It took me five and half months to receive my skates. I ordered these skates on September 17, 2020. I did not receive my order until March 5, 2021. Granted I ordered them in the middle of the pandemic and imports suffered debilitating delays.
The Moxie Skate Panther has a black suede upper, with a flex notch. Suede is very forgiving of abrasions and scuffing from the inevitable tumbles. The inside lining and laces are leopard print. It has an adjustable toe stop and outdoor polyurethane wheels.
I haven’t skated for real since the weekly middle school after parties, but I had abandoned the wheels for popping in a neon light lit corner when puberty hit. I listed “learning how to skate” on my yearly resolutions and goals list. I want to cultivate more hobbies that aren’t centered around capitalism and doing things just for the joy of it, even if I’m not inherently good at it. Something that I don’t feel the pressure to be perfect act, but something I can develop and get better at over time through practice.
Safety is sexy and I am over thirty years old, so I have purchased a helmet, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads.
