#TITATIAT November 11th

Today is Thursday and this is a throwback…is an obnoxiously long hashtag and a nostalgic rich talk show presented by #ThePeridot. #TodayInHistory. At 5 AM on this day in 1918, the Allied powers and Germany signed an armistice document in the railway carriage of Ferdinand Foch, the commander of the Allied armies and six hours later world war I came to an end (britannica.com). On November 11, 1974, Mr. Steal Your Girl, Leonardio Wilhelm DiCaprio was born. Happy Birthday, Leo! In honor of Leonardo Dicaprio’s Birthday, the #ThrowbackVHS presents a list of his early hits. 1. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, where he plays Johnny Depp’s mentally impaired younger brother. 2. Romeo + Juliet, where he stars as Bad Luhrmann’s Romeo opposite Claire Danes 3. Titanic, where he is the most charming and romantic homeless man in the Atlantic Ocean. 4. Man in the Iron Mask…now this was a back to back run this man had in `96 and ’97! Watch the Man in the Iron Mask. The movie is so good and Sisqo did a rendition of the movie’s plot in Dru Hill’s These are the Times music video. 5. Gangs of New York. Leo does gory and well and the story is a great tale about revenge. That’s a perfect Blockbuster night lineup. Which brings us to… "Back in the day when I was young I’m not a kid anymore, but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again." This week’s #TheThrowback is dedicated to #Blockbuster. Before Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney and the rest of the plus streaming services, there was Blockbuster, the OG movie and video game rental. Plastic clam shell cases listing the movies synopsis lined the walls and numerous aisles of rental shop. They sold movie snacks like stovetop popcorn, twizzlers, and raisinets as you waited in the line for checkout. You had 72 hours to watch the movie and return it to the store. And remember be kind and rewind. You know what time it is? It’s time for the #1SongOfTheDay! Ten years ago, on November 11, 2011 the Rihanna and Calvin Harris top the U.S. Billboard charts with We Found Love! Well that concludes our show.
